Biggest Loser Families - America Votes

Posted on Dec 11th 2008 7:30AM by Bev Sklar

Biggest Loser Families did not fall short on drama this week. Michelle and Vicky landed above the yellow line, which leaves below-the-liners Ed and Heba's fate up to you, America. Vote via phone or on-line by 3:00 pm ET on Monday, December 15 and make your voice heard.

I voted for Heba because my favorite contestant, Michelle, has a better chance against her. Also, why should Ed and Heba win both categories for a $350,000 haul? Blogosphere resentment still runs high against nasty Vicky -- if she wins the top spot at next Tuesday's finale, there will be shattered plasmas.

So is it Ed or Heba? Let us know in our That's Fit poll:

Who deserves your vote?
Ed37 (52.1%)
Heba34 (47.9%)

From Whence You Came
-- If you've ever lost five, 10, 15 or more pounds, strap on a few weight vests and recall what it felt like carrying that extra flab around. Biggest Losers did just that at this week's challenge, unstrapping 11 vests/belts representing their weekly weight loss, as they jogged past 11 racetrack pitstops. It doesn't take an Einstein to see that Ed would win the prize -- $10,000 and a post-ranch meal plan for his family.

Healthy Eating Or Fitness -- If you had to pick one, which would it be? I'd drop fitness. From this fitness layfan's perspective, eating healthy is 90 percent of the equation for staying out of your fat pants. Hmm ... Ed and Heba won the healthy post-ranch dinner plan, this is a serious advantage.

Burn Your Fat Pants -- Contestants tossed their fat clothes in a bonfire like the bra-burning '70s. Whether you burn, bury or throw out your ugly butt jeans, just make sure they're out of the house. Fallback clothes are simply temptation, cut it out.

No Mystery Vegetables
-- Can your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews identify broccoli? Amazingly, Vicky admitted her daughter wouldn't be able to name this powerhouse veggie. She openly shared her family ate fast food every night, never a veggie. Sheesh, Vicky is at serious risk of gaining it all back after the ranch. Maintaining the weight loss over five years should be the focus of a 2013 Biggest Loser series. Any eligible contestants for that prize would be the true winners.

Don't Miss Trainer Gems

  • If you're tired of fish and chicken, don't forget about egg whites and beans, says Bob. One cup of black beans contains as much protein as two ounces of lean, broiled steak. Three protein-rich egg whites have only 50 calories. The average adult needs about 50 grams of protein a day.
  • As Bob sliced into a bunch of fresh veggies and fish for a Blue meal, he explained that he eats like this all of the time. Bummer, what a bore. I need a little more chocolate and fat in my life some of the time.

If you haven't voted for Ed or Heba, head on over to NBC.com and pull the digital lever. As a faithful fan, you deserve to vote. Then set your DVR for next Tuesday's finale at 8/7c. See you next week for the last show ... sniff. Nah, there will be another series soon.
