Biggest Loser Families Meet Tyra Banks

Biggest Loser Families hit the catwalk over at The Tyra Banks Show this week with amazing confidence, style and beauty, thanks to a hair and fashion makeover in NYC. Designer Christian Siriano hooked each contestant up with beautiful new outfits that complemented their shapely new figures. Contestants were shopping for standard off-the-rack sizes for the first time in years. Post-Tyra, contestants ran into Big Brother trainers Bob and Jillian on the Times Square big screen, reminding them it was time to head over to an NYC 24 Hour Fitness and take that six-mile jog around Central Park. Tyra was fun, but this episode's real lessons emerged off the catwalk.
Lose The Weight, Hello Living - Watching Renee jog with her fit husband Roderick across the Brooklyn Bridge slammed home the difference losing 68 pounds can make in your relationships. Roderick was in shock at Renee's transformation, and they reveled in working out together as equals. This was my absolute favorite moment in the show -- marriages are enriched when you spend fitness time together. My husband and I actually pay a babysitter so we can head to the gym, then enjoy dinner out. It's that important to us.
Trust Yourself To Break Out Of Your Comfort Zone - Vicky was paralyzed with fear during the challenge, unable to drop 15 feet into a swimming pool from a suspended glass box. Vicky's manipulative play has earned intense criticism from Biggest Loser fans -- it was refreshing to see her mortal side. Trainer Bob saw this scene as a metaphor for Vicky's lack of trust in herself. He says we must trust ourselves to positively move forward in life. Check out his video below for more on this thread.

Love, Love, Love - Swing voter Vicky eliminated Renee, but it didn't steal Renee's enduring message to her daughter that, "Love never fails. I may not be the Biggest Loser, but I feel like the biggest winner." Since elimination, Renee has dropped a total of 95 pounds, abandoned size 22 for a size 8, is thriving as a public speaker and leads a fitness group at work.

- A treadmill is more than cardio. Jillian had Renee and Michelle doing leaning treadmill push-ups with claps and treadmill pull-ups in between sprints. Just make sure your kids do not push the START button as you're hanging underneath the support arms on your sixth pull-up.
- Bob stole Jillian's Spinning weapon from the prior week and sweated Blue to exhaustion. If your fire sign needs heat, head to a spinning class.
- Makeover your comfort foods. Don't give up on your favorite fat-filled recipes, modify them. Bob enjoyed a surprise dinner of Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps prepared with Jennie O Turkey, veggies and spices prepared by Blue's Ed and Heba.

And again, we must put up with the wicked witch of the Biggest loser for another week. Hopefully she will fall below the yellow line and then America can vote her off for good!

I saw the episode of Biggest Loser and was, of course, annoyed by Vickie. Coincidentally, as I finished my workout (Cathe Friedrich) from the DVR, the Tyra episode was on TV - so I rewinded it to watch. Vickie was initially supposed to appear on Biggest Loser with her sister, but as the show's focus changed - V's sister bowed out so that Vickie could participate with her husband. She said that she felt really guilty that her sister couldn't participate w/ her.
That let me look at V in a different way (at least a bit). Maybe all of the game play is partially for the benefit of her sister. You know, "I need to win the game to prove to my sister that I was worth her sacrifice." I don't know, still wish V would have cut at least 6 inches off of her hair. I'm willing to look at her in a different way, but it would be a bad year for BL if she did win.

Adam and amyp,
Your insights are terrific -- wasn't aware of the Vicky-Sister factor. America is infuriated with Vicky, which will put her in public vote jeopardy if she doesn't lose big. 'What comes around goes around', they always say. No obvious winner in the works over at Biggest Loser, it's up for grabs.

I don't care what her issues are, there's no excuse to act like that. I don't know if I've ever disliked a reality show contestant this much. I truly believe she's a sociopath. If not that, she's at the very least extremely immature, deceitful and mean. I hope she and her entire family are ashamed of her actions.
In other news, I recently bough Jillian's 30 Day Shred DVD. Holy cow. I work out for at least an hour almost every day, so I'm pretty fit. I started it on the hardest level and have been doing it every other day combined with 30 minutes on the treadmill. On alternate days I do her Shape Up DVD, which is easier. I'm already seeing a difference, and this is on top working out like a maniac for almost 2 years straight! I suggest you guys give it a go, it only takes 30 minutes!
