Jennifer Aniston - she's trim and toned now but once called exercise cruel and unusual

Categories: Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

Jennifer Aniston is now a fan of fitness.

I love exercise and would never call it cruel or unusual. Jennifer Aniston once did, though. Hard to believe when you look at her trim and toned body, right? Well, times have changed, and the one-time Friends star now embraces the whole idea of fitness.

How does she hang on to such an enviable body? Moderation and variety are key. She does a little bit of everything and is very moderate, which makes for a routine that is manageable and consistent. Of late, this is what she's been doing: Three to four times a week, Jennifer does 20 minutes of cardio followed by 30 to 40 minutes of yengar-based hatha yoga, which focuses on alignment, breath, and inner awareness. Sun salutations and basic poses like half-moon, standing splits, and pigeon have given her primo results. On other days, Jennifer uses the elliptical machine for a low-impact routine.

While Jen eats as well as she exercises -- three healthy, low-carb meals a day for her and apparently, she's got a thing for Smart Water too -- she's not against an occasional splurge and isn't afraid to admit she's fan of the double cheeseburger with onions from In-N-Out Burger. She also makes her own signature guacamole and margarita treat and can throw down as many as three dirty martinis now and then. Says Ginnifer Goodwin, who costars with Jen in He's Just Not That Into You: "An actress's diet can be coffee and cigarettes." And this is not what Jen is about.
