Follow the food pyramid

Remember the food pyramid from those childhood nutritional commercials? They were designed to provide a visual aid for the kinds of foods you should be eating. So use it. Sure, the traditional food pyramid has been outdated and updated, but it provides a good overview for what you should be eating.
Fitsugar recently told us about some food pyramid plates that can help you figure out how much you should be eating of each food group, but you can do the same on your own plate. Visualize four quarters -- two should be filled with veggies, one with grains and one with meat. It's that simple!
