Avoid weight regain with exercise

If you've put in the effort to lose weight, the last thing you want to do is regain it. A recent study confirms what Jacki recently told us -- diet alone isn't enough to maintain a healthy weight. Researchers from Denmark followed 125 people who had lost weight. The study participants followed one of three diets -- one that included about 35-45% of total calories from fat (mostly healthy fats), the second had 20-30% of calories from fat (with no restrictions of type of fat), and the control group consumed 35% of calories from fat. None of the groups exercised. After six months, all three groups had regained weight.
I'm not a scientist, but this study seems incredibly flawed. There's a lot more to a healthy diet than fat calories and there should have been a control group that did exercise. Flawed study or not, though, the end recommendation is sound. While diet plays a large role in weight loss and maintenance (arguably the larger role), exercise is necessary to achieve and maintain your weight goals.
