Walking the Walk - day 7

Day 7: According to Dr. Oz, a high-fiber diet will boost your energy levels. Though I believe him, I'm still waiting. This may have more to do with my lack of sleep and busy schedule this week than my diet, though! What I have noticed, however, is that I'm no longer crashing and burning in the afternoon. Though I still feel tired after a long day, I don't hit the wall at 2 PM and run for those mood-lifting simple carbohydrates (see this post for more on afternoon snacking). That means no more extreme highs and lows on the sugar rollercoaster. The high-fiber foods I'm choosing give me a nice, slow energy burn, making me feel more "even" over the course of the day.
