Daily Fit Tip: Rate your hunger

One major cause of weight gain is eating when you're not hungry. Cut down on unnecessary eating, and you'll cut the numbers on the scale.

It's simple, really. According to Women's Day magazine, whenever you feel a hunger pang, rate it on a scale of one to five -- one being not really hungry but able to nibble and five being absolutely starving. Try to eat only when you're at level three or four. Read more tips here.

I'm going to take it a step further and say you should rate your fullness too. If one stands for not full at all but not really hungry either and five stands for absolutely stuffed, try to stop eating around two or three. You can always go back for more if you're still hungry after about 20 minutes or so, but you can't take back those second and third helpings.
