Pressed for time? Try one of these ideas for exercising when time is tight.

clockWe all have days when our schedules are just stretched thin. Maybe you can't manage your regular workout on days like that (though you should treat your workouts as a high priority), but you can always find time to piggyback a little fitness in when taking care of other commitments. Some ideas:

  • While your child is taking a music lesson or at a team practice, lace up your walking shoes and walk or jog around the neighborhood. Be sure to wear a watch so you can be back to pick up your child on time.
  • Walk to work if you can or, if you take public transportation to the office, get off a stop or two early and walk the rest of the way.
  • Dance or do jumping jacks while watching TV.
  • Cooking dinner? Do push ups or sit ups while waiting for a pot to boil.
