Daily Fit Tip: Keep a fitness bin by your TV
Posted on Oct 31st 2008 6:00AM by Jacki DonaldsonYou might have a newspaper bin by your TV. Or a toy bin for your kids. But do you have a fitness bin? You should.
FitSugar pointed me in the direction of this idea, and I love it. All you need is a basket or container of some sort, a set of dumbbells, a resistance band, a yoga mat, and a few fitness magazines. Other stuff is permitted, of course -- a jump rope and an MP3 player aren't bad ideas. As long as the idea is all fitness, you're golden. In other words, no stashed cookies or chips. Leave those for another bin, like the one that holds your household trash.
The point of the fitness bin is to have your gear out in the open, where you can plainly see and grab it. When those commercials come on, then, reach in to your bin and grab something. How about a set of curls while your favorite show takes break? Sounds like a good idea to me.
