15 tricky calorie questions for you

Posted on Oct 25th 2008 10:00AM by Bev Sklar
Whether you're a nutrition whiz or clueless about total calories or grams of this 'n that, Fitness magazine has a fun calorie quiz for you. Trust me, it's tough to score 100 percent on this one. Here are three zingers that fooled me:

Which breakfast has the most calories?
  • Ham, egg and cheddar on an English muffin
  • An oat-bran muffin
  • A bowl of yogurt, berries and granola
  • Oatmeal with maple syrup and brown sugar
Which of these foods has the most calories per serving?
  • 1/4 cup of tropical trail mix
  • 1 oz serving of vegetable chips
  • 30 chocolate-covered raisins
  • 1/2 cup of Edy's Slow-Churned Rich and Creamy Chocolate Fudge Chunk Ice Cream
How many calories a day should you get from drinks?
  • 475
  • 340
  • 200
  • 180

I chose the English muffin sandwich, the chocolate raisins and 340 calories -- wrong. It's actually the oat-bran muffin (454 calories and 12 grams of fat), those innocent veggie chips (150 calories and 9 grams of fat) and 200 calories of drinks per day. How'd you do? Are you Calorie-iffic, an Average Joe, or simply Failing? Click on the poll to let us know.
