Do you warm up before you exercise? You should. Do you cool down afterwards? You should. Here's why.
Especially after vigorous aerobic exercise, it's important to cool down. All it takes is 10 minutes for a gradual cool-down, according to the experts at LifeTips. Try this: After a long run or jog, walk around and keep moving for a bit. It'll do your body good -- cooling down properly redistributes the blood that may have pooled in your extremities when you end your workout, which prevents muscle stiffness.
Think of it this way: Cooling down allows the metabolic wastes to be worked out of your muscles. Eww, I don't think I want waste hanging around in my muscles. How about you?
