After losing a healthy chunk of weight recently, I hit a roadblock. Every day for the last 10 days, the scale greets me every morning with the same number. At a recent check up, I asked my doctor what I was doing wrong -- should I be eating fewer carbs? More protein? Should I just chuck my scale out the window?

"It all comes down to calories in versus calories out," was his reply. "I know that's not what you want to hear."
