Don't have the cash to have a trainer supervise every workout? Give your workout a boost with these five tips.

woman lifting weightsWhile it would be a great luxury to have a personal trainer supervise every workout -- determining when you can ramp up an exercise and what moves you should do to perfectly sculpt and tone your body -- most people just don't have that in the budget. So Women's Health Magazine has pulled together some tips from top trainers:
  • More weight. If you can do 12 reps of a move with perfect form for two workouts, you can try increasing the amount you're lifting.
  • Get a reminder. Sign up for a program or support group that offers email messages. Little reminders can do wonders for your fitness routine.
  • Take it slow. Don't race through your strength training routine. It's better to take it slow and concentrate on having good form.
  • Be efficient. If you don't have a lot of time, you can still get a great workout. Include bursts of intense cardio with your strength training routine.
  • Check yourself out. Stand in front of a mirror when strength training -- it's a great way to ensure you're using proper form.
