4 ways to stay younger, longer

If you're reading us here today on That's Fit, that means you're a day older than when you read us yesterday (of course, the same goes for us writing here, too). Day by day, week by week, month by month, and eventually year by year -- we all get older and older. Sucks, doesn't it?Fortunately there are things we can do to help slow down the aging process and keep us feeling and looking younger, longer. Take these age-erasing tips, for example:
Exercise regularly to keep your body and brain working properly. A study from Johns Hopkins reports that a person increases the risk of developing dementia by as much as 80 percent if they are obese.
Stay sexually active. A University of Chicago study revealed that people who had sex more than once a week (or at least took matters into their own hands) had stronger immune systems and lived longer than those who went without.
Cut back on the booze. A glass of red wine a day promotes healthy heart function, but throwing back shot after shot of Jack will damage the liver and can lead to premature aging of the skin and brain.
Put out the cigarettes for good. Smoking not only contributes to the death of millions of people each year, but it can also cause you to age faster. Plus, some studies show that smoking can reduce testosterone levels in men.
Until the actual fountain of youth is discovered, these age-defying tips should do the trick. If you have any of your own you'd like to share, please feel free to do so in the comments section below.
