Would you eat breast milk ice cream?
Categories: Nutrition & Supplements
Ice cream a favourite indulgence of yours? Would you still eat it if it was made from breast milk? I know what you're probably thinking -- ick. But it's no joke. PETA recently urged ice cream giant Ben & Jerry's to start using milk from human mothers instead of milk from cows to make their famous frozen treats. The idea came after a revelation that a Swiss restaurant owner intended on carrying breast milk at his eatery.
I know I shouldn't find this gross ... but I do. Breast milk is full of important nutrients, but I still think it's best left for babies. What do you think? Is breast milk best? Would you eat this ice cream?

Judging from the comments on linked page, I would venture to guess that "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift is no longer required reading in school.

All milk is disgusting, especially the stuff that comes from livestock kept in huge factory farms, fed antibiotics just to keep them from getting sick. If I start to think about it too long while I'm eating something made of milk or drinking milk itself, it kills my appetite. Human milk probably just has more impurities from the wide variety of crap we put into our bodies, food, cosmetics, what we breathe. Yuck.

Come on people. Most of you drink milk from the breast of a cow, goat or sheep on a regular basis. What's the big deal here? In case you haven't guessed I'd be happy to eat Ice Cream or any milk product from a human source.

I'm a vegetarian, but Peta crosses the line way too much for me. I never really liked milk that much, but I rather drink milk from a cow than a human. Blech.

It depends, if the milk came from Salma Hayek's breast I probably would but if it came from Roseanne Barr's I probably would not. Next thing you know PETA will ask Steak Houses to to use Human meat instead of beef. Those people are insane, they really hurt thier cause when they do things like this. I support the ethical treatment of animals but when the cause is pushed by a bunch of crazies like those at PETA I am just not interested.

I'm just recently tried breastmilk ice-cream (at a radio station in Seattle) and I must admit that I didn't like the texture of it. It left a weird creamy film on the roof of my mouth. It was an interesting thing to be a part of.
