Brooke Shields still fits into teenage jeans!

In 1980, when Brooke Shields was just a teenager, she did a few Calvin Klein jeans ads with the famous tagline, "You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing." It appears the same has held true nearly 30 years later -- she showed up at a party for the designer's 40th anniversary wearing the same jeans. And yep, those are it in the picture.
Aside from the Calvins, Brooke obviously has pretty good genes of her own. But, genetics alone doesn't allow a 43-year-old woman and mother to fit into jeans she wore when she was 14 or 15, and Brooke shared a couple of her slim-down secrets, including cutting down on carbs.
She said, "If I stay away from too much carbohydrates, I'm usually better off," but that doesn't mean she deprives herself, adding, "I don't want to go through life not enjoying." In addition to watching her diet, she keeps her body buff by spinning and practicing yoga. Keep doing whatever you're doing, Brooke -- it's working!

Those aren't the same jeans! The rise is much lower on the ones she's wearing now, and the rinse is darker.

They don't mean the "EXACT" jeans......lol
the SAME SIZE is what they are talking about!
I also wanted to add Brooke is the most beautiful woman in the world handling herself with grace and dignity and she's always been my favorite.

It does not say "same size" in the article, it says "wearing the same jeans" and makes it a point to state that those are it in the picture. Although, they look very different, I agree, that could be the lighting and the pose.
I do agree with most of you, that she looks great and should not be commended for fitting jeans she wore as a teen (which I don't believe), but for the fact that she leads a healthy lifestyle which allows her to remain fit and in shape.

While Brooke Shields looks undeniably fantastic for her age, I don't believe for a second those are the same size jeans... It's called VANITY SIZING.

But regardless to that, she wears those denim damn well so good for her! :)

I thought "vanity sizing" when I read this too! Regardless, she does look fantastic--much better shape than most 20 year olds out there. Why does our culture feel the need to compel 40 year old women to fit into teen clothing in order to be attractive?

I work in the fashion industry and women's clothing sizes on the whole run a size or two bigger(depending on the brand) than they did at the time Brooke modeled as a teenager. I am 50 and still wear a 4, I still have some 4 to 6 pants from back in the 1970's and 80's and can't get them over my hips. Brooke is the correct size for her age, it wouldn't be healthy for her to be in the size she was as a teenager, or realistic. Also sizes from say the sixties and below run very small, I can wear sizes 12 to 16 in some vintage clothing... so when you hear Marilyn Monroe wore a size sixteen(I think was the number) it was probably true, but it was a tiny size 16!

Sooooo true!! I'm 58, and as a teenager I wore size 12 jeans. I weigh 5 lbs. more now than I did at 16, but I now wear jeans that are size 6 or 4 (!), depending on the brand. And, trust me, it ain't because I have improved body tone or anything like that...

I don't believe that Brooke has the hip size she did when she was 14 or 15. After child birth, our hips spread. She does however, look fantastic! It's unrealistic to expect a woman to be the size she was a young teenager and why would a woman want that body? Once you mature, have babies, grow in to your bones, you become womanly with curves. If you notice in the Calvin Klein photo, Brooke didn't have a whole lot of curves like she does today. In my opinion, her figure is much prettier today then when she was 14. Brooke is a beautiful woman.

Bekka... that's really true! Women who pay big prices for their clothing, also get a size 6 labeled as a size 4. I think fashion designers do that on purpose because it keeps the rich coming back to buy more of their clothing. I have jeans I wore in my 20's that say a size 6 and they're too, tight. I wear a size 4 today, but obviously that size 4 isn't what a size 4 was 30 years ago. To keep my figure I exercise 45 minutes everyday and I run on weekends and I'm not a rich celebrity. I simply care about my health and I want to look good. You don't have to be rich and have a personal trainer to stay in shape, what you have to have is the dedication to exercise and you have to watch what you eat. Which is damn hard!

No wonder we have such unhealthy and fearful attitudes about fat, aging, body image, etc. Human beings were not meant to stay the same size their entire lives. Middle age naturally (and healthily) brings weight gain and weight shift to prepare for and protect against the natural weight loss of old age. Yet here's "That's Fit" again, holding up an unrealistic image as the ideal. Grown woman shouldn't aspire to be the same size they were as teens! It's not cause for accolades!
