Body Mass Index, or BMI, is used to determine if you're a healthy weight or overweight and at greater risk of developing certain health issues.More or less, the way it breaks down is like this:
- BMI 19-25; healthy
- BMI 25-30; overweight
- BMI above 30: obese

Chris, I have to be honest. I don't like your celebrity comparison of BMI...
Call me conceited, but I have a BMI of 25 and I work out 5 days a week and am tone and in-shape...and I really don't want to be told that my celebrity equal, as far as BMI, is Oprah or Queen Latifah...but that's just me.

Hi Melissa,
Thanks for your comment. To your point, the celebrity BMI comparison was mostly for fun -- not something that can be taken completely seriously.
And, as you probably know, what BMI doesn't take into account is muscle mass. So, it's entirely possible that because you work out as often as you do, you have a higher BMI, even though you are much more fit than that number would indicate.
Keep up the great work in the gym!!
