Daily Fit Tip: Freeze it
Categories: Daily Fit Tip
Fruit overripe? Don't let it go bad -- there's an easy and healthy way to preserve those fruits for future eating.
Freeze it. Frozen fruit can be used in many of the same ways you use fresh fruit. For instance, frozen berries or peaches can be used in smoothies, mixed in with plain, nonfat yogurt or over ice cream for a sweet indulgence, while ripe bananas are perfect for making banana bread or low-fat cookies. Frozen fruit is quick and easy to thaw and it's great especially in winter, when fresh produce is hard to come by. How do you use your frozen fruit?
