Daily Fit Tip: You don't need a professional to get a great pedicure

Getting a pedicure is one of the best ways to relax after a hard day, but hitting the salon every time you feel stressed can get expensive. But no worries!

It is possible to duplicate many of the relaxing benefits of a professional pedicure at home, just follow these simple tips from Self:

  • Massage The massage is one of the best parts of a professional pedicure, but how can you apply the same pressure when you're by yourself? Try rolling a golf ball under each foot for about two minutes -- you can make it as deep or as gentle as you want.
  • Re-condition You can apply all the moisturizer you want but the tough skin on your heels probably isn't letting it soak through. Try a glycolic peel to soften and break down the outer skin layers, then follow with a thick moisturizing balm.
  • Strengthen High heels causing you strain and pain? Try sitting on the floor and using just your toes to curl/roll a small towel towards you. Do this 5 times a day and you'll have stronger muscles, which will help your feet better deal with the pressure created by towering heels.
