School, homework, extra-curricular activities, hobbies, part-time jobs -- kids who spent their summer kicking back and relaxing may suddenly find themselves with limited free time on their hands. One of the first things to go in a busy schedule is often exercise, but fitness is important to good health.

Experts often recommend making exercise a family affair, so why not consider keeping TV time to a minimum during the week and doing a family fitness activity instead? Take a walk, play Frisbee, find a hiking trail, play tag in the backyard, even just running around a playground with your little ones will keep everyone active instead of slumped on the couch. Kids sit enough at school as it is!

Not only will you help everyone get the exercise they need (yourself included), you'll be building family memories and healthy habits to last a lifetime.
