Three salsas, all healthy and unique

Salsa is such a wonderfully healthy condiment on its own, and makes a wonderful addition to grilled chicken and fish, brown rice and quinoa. Steer clear of the traditional corn chips, if you can, though!Do you sometimes get tired of the same old tomato salsa? I've found three unique salsa recipes to put a little spunk back into your salsa meals.
The first celebrates a favorite food of mine: the avocado. Epicurious' Asian Avocado Salsa lends a different twist to traditional salsa, with ingredients like soy sauce, sesame seeds and oil, jicama, and watercress. With a powerhouse main ingredient like avocado, this one is sinless.
How do you feel about fruity salsas? I find that they go particularly well with chicken or polenta, and this pear and plum habanero salsa is fiery and sweet. I suggest using raw honey or agave syrup (use 2/3 the amount) instead of the sugar, even though it is just a small bit.
Ready for this cool and refreshing salsa? Watermelon Fire and Ice Salsa is essentially a traditional tomato salsa, with watermelon instead of tomatoes. You've just increased thelycopene in your tasty condiment, and made it cool and crunchy. I'd use garlic powder instead of garlic salt, and then add a pinch of sea salt.
What's your favorite salsa recipe?
