Get more greens, effortlessly
By now, we've probably all heard that we're supposed to be getting 5-10 servings of fruit and veggies a day. But knowing this guideline is one thing; Making sure we meet it day in and day out is another. Do you get 5-10 a day? Come on, be honest with yourself. Truth be told, many people find it hard to get all those greens, but Diet Blog has some fantastic suggestions. One of the top recommendations? Every time you have a plate or container of food, make sure it is at least half veggies.
I struggle with this too, so here are some of my own suggestions: In the morning, I sneak a handful of spinach into my fruit protein smoothie. It sounds gross but seriously, I can't taste the difference. And in the evening I drink a big cup of V8 juice to curb any pre-bedtime hunger.
How do you sneak in greens?

Most of us are pressed for time and that's it may be hard to get in the 5-10 servings of fruits and veg.
But you can get ALL of these servings in just 1 smoothie. Think about - you throw in a ton of your favourite fruits and/or veggies and blend them into a delicious liquid meal.
Here's a great smoothie video and information on eating more greens:

I get mine in one fell swoop at lunch every day at work - I eat a big "Mediterranean" salad with a variety of lettuces, tomato, cucumber, feta, olives, green pepper, artichokes, red onions, parmeson cheese...and I throw in some red cabbage, carrots, edmame and broccoli to boot. (I am blessed with an awesome salad bar at lunch).
I top it with olive oil and red wine vinegar and a little ceasar so I am getting my healthy fats :)
I think a big raw salad is the way to go, a canned version of any veggie is going to be more devoid of nutrients. Frozen is better, fresh is best. Instead of concentrating on quantity, concentrate on quality :)
