Nicole Kidman: Skinny again after only two weeks
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment
Those interested in the lives of the stars will recall that mega celeb Nicole Kidman gave birth a few weeks ago to daughter Sunday Rose, who is no doubt cute as a button. But recent photos of the actress getting into her car for yoga class are raising some eyebrows -- not because motherhood has changed her but because she looks, well, the same as she did before she got pregnant: Thin.
Check out these photos -- from the looks of it, I would bet she is back in her pre-baby jeans already, and the baby isn't even three weeks old. Granted, Nicole has always been thin and she maintained her svelte figure throughout the pregnancy, but do you think this is a little extreme? Or are all the naysayers just raising a fuss because they're jealous?
Whatever the case, it takes dedication to look that good, don't you think?

I am 37 weeks pregnant and every time I run into someone I have not seen in a while the first comment they make is "OMG! You are so small/skinny/tiny/thin." To me this is a very backhanded compliment. I mean just because I am pregnant does not mean I put on a ton of weight. Most of the clothes I wear are not maternity and I do fully expect to be back in my pre-pregnancy jeans shortly after birth as they pretty much still fit now. There is nothing wrong with taking care of yourself and your body while pregnant and immediately post delivery. Oh and before you harp on me about not taking care of my baby in utero, my doctor approves of the 30 pounds I have gained and likes the fact that I have maintained an active lifestyle instead of using my pregnancy as an excuse to eat as much as humanly possible and sit on my rear end. (And I know that every woman is different but people need to quite raggin' on those of us who are proactive about our health while pregnant.)

Ima gonna chime in here.
I was one of them who put on 50+ lbs both pregnancies. I certainly was envious of those who seemed to manage their weight well. I do believe some of us will just get fat, no matter what. Seriously. I also think some of us will just stay skinny, no matter what. Tall lean types tend to carry differently-Nicole there falls into that category. YES, I HATE HER FOR IT, but I don't hate her, if you know what I mean.
p.s. Even though I gained all that weight, I took back off both times. It took a lot longer than 3 weeks, that's for dang sure.
jennifer- don't take it personal. I think some of us "fatter" types don't get it and we aren't not dogging you b/c you take care of yourself.
I've seen figure competitors put on 60+ lbs during a pregnancy.
wishing you a healthy and happy delivery!

I am with Jennifer (Comment #1).
Kidman kept herself fit and healthy throughout her pregnancy, spinning, yoga, walking. Did people think she was just doing that because it was fun? Not only would it have helped her during her delivery and that seemed to have gone very smoothly, she was released a few hours after she gave birth! She is out doing Yoga after the birth and that will help with the tiredness.
She didn't just get thin after two weeks, she didn't gain much weight while pregnant and this is the result. She is also breastfeeding looking at those breasts of hers.
Some women can't help but pile on the pounds during pregnancy but those who can take care of their bodies should, it goes a long way. They should do more than WALKING.
Looking at her, she doesn't look THIN, she looks slim and healthy. I applaud her. It is time to start encouraging pregnant women to think of their bodies, too and not just focus on the babies they are carrying.
It will be good if the likes of Martha Edwards don't just parrrot what they read. Look, think and write!

Her diet is a balanced one and she uses portion control to avoid putting on weight. Her work out routine before the pregnancy was running outdoors, usually seven miles during the week, taking it to ten or twelve miles on the weekend. I read about this at http://www.projectweightloss.com.
