How Many Calories ... in a Baskin Robbins Heath Shake?
When the days are long, lazy and warm, few things sound more appealing than a cool, frosty ice cream cone or milkshake. But shakes, as we know, are a definite diet no-no. It's not surprising, really, considering their number one ingredient is cream, followed by sugar and then possibly topped off with add-ons like chocolate, whipped cream or candy.
Still, indulging every once in a while isn't a crime, right? Sometimes it's important to treat yourself. But it's also important to know just how much that 'treat' is going to cost you.
So here's a question for you ...
The answer is a staggering 2310 Calories, 108 g of fat and 266 grams of sugar! I've been writing this feature for a while now and you'd think nothing could shock me anymore but when I read about the Heath Shake on Diet Blog I almost spit my coffee all over my computer screen. Sure, it could have had something to do with the fact that I mis-read Heath as Health, but still. 2310 calories is more than the recommended daily allowance for many people, and it's pretty shocking that one beverage can have that many calories. Granted, it is 32 oz (that's almost a litre) but a drink of that size should be outlawed if you ask me.
What really kills me, though, is the 266 grams of sugar. That's over a cup of sugar. You might as well eat an entire chocolate cake by yourself. With ice cream on top. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating. Or am I?
In case you're interested, this is what a Heath Shake is:
"This toffee/coffee mix begins with Heath ice cream blended with coffee, Heath Bar candy pieces and caramel, topped with whipped cream and even more Heath Bar candy pieces."
Gotta have it? Order the small size (990 calories, 46 g of fat, 113 g of sugar) and share it with a friend.

Have a look at the DQ Blizzard menu and I think you will see some really high counts as well. I know we used to treat ourselves to them once in a while (it would have been more often if they were closer to the house), but after looking it up, we were getting well over 1000 calories each time. Switching to the smallest size helped. Good thing it isn't very often! I feel the need to eat/drink this particular one though. hmm
