Tomorrow is the Fourth of July and chances are you'll be celebrating with family, friends and a big ole' plate of food. But Independence Day doesn't have to mean diet disaster!
It might seem impossible, but you can make healthy choices. If you're the one doing the cooking, check out some recipes we put together for the occasion. There's guilt-free potato salad, lean cheeseburgers and even a healthy version of a favourite dessert--strawberry shortcake--to help keep your family's appetite satisfied and the numbers on your scale down.

- Take half a serving of meat, potato salad and dessert -- and twice as much salad and veggies. That way you can still enjoy everything you like at half the calories.
- Order your burger without cheese -- you'll save yourself hundreds of calories and a fair amount of fat too.
- Skip the beer and enjoy some calorie-conscious cocktails.
- Get up early tomorrow morning and go for a long run and drink lots of water throughout the day. Hey, what's life without a little indulgence every now and then? Just balance it out with something healthy
