Remember the Grapefruit Diet? Here at That's Fit, we avoid fad diets like Big Macs, but you might be surprised to hear that this one might actually have some merit.As I mentioned in passing a little while back, research suggests that eating grapefruit actually does help you lose weight. There are a number of reasons here : As you've probably guessed, grapefruit can satisfy hunger while being low in calories. And in addition, it's packed with water and fiber that can help flush your system of water weight and excess gunk. But there's another reason you might not have heard about: Grapefruit is thought to help control your blood sugar, which can really help you slim down. In fact, in a study, participants who ate half a grapefruit with every meal lost more weight than those who didn't. Not your thing? Drinking grapefruit juice showed similar results.

So as long as you're not eating only grapefruit and are getting a balanced diet of veggies, whole grains and protein, there's no reason this fad diet can't be a part of your diet!
