Fit Beauty: Superb skincare for the 40+ crowd

Throughout your life, your skincare needs change. As you entered puberty you required certain products to combat acne, and as you entered adulthood, perhaps the acne was no longer an issue, but you started having dry skin issues. That's totally normal.

Also normal is a change in your skincare needs as you age. You experience a decline in hormone levels, which affects your skin, causing it to dry out -- these changes generally begin to take place as a woman enters her 40s. Dry skin isn't the only problem, however -- at the same time, women begin to see more wrinkles, sagging, and age spots. Needless to say, the cleansers and moisturizers you used in your 20s are no longer the most effective choice.

My friend, Debbie, had the opportunity to try out some products by Emerita geared toward the specific skin problems of mature women and was very happy with the results, which is saying something because she has sensitive skin and is prone to allergic reactions. And so, for today's Fit Beauty feature, I thought I would share her experiences with you.

Day Face Cream with SPF 15 -- This was her favorite product because it went on really easily and made her skin feel smooth -- not heavy like she was wearing lotion. And, the fact that it has SPF 15 is a big bonus since we live in Florida!
Night Face Cream -- She liked this as well, but found that it had just a little too much moisture for her. However, dry skin isn't a big problem for her, so for anyone with dry skin, this could really be the perfect product.
Fine Line Eye Serum -- She found this to be really refreshing and soothing -- it penetrates completely so there's no oiliness, but makes the skin around the eye super-soft.
Dark Circle Eye Serum -- This was the heaviest of all the products and felt a bit too oily for Debbie. However,according to the website, "a two-month study resulted in 63% of women noting a lessening of discoloration of the skin under the eyes (used twice daily)."

The other appealing aspect to this line is the scent, which is really minimal, but what is there is fresh and clean. Of course people are 'quick' to suggest using Arbonne products! They work! And how do you mean they did 'nothing'? Were you using a full skin care line? a sample? Do you have a specific concern?
It's funny to me that if someone purchased clinique from macy's and there was a problem they would storm back into the store and complain about it but you are offered superior cutomer service with Arbonne and a 45 day money back guarantee, people would rather blame the company rather than talking to thier consultant to naybe find a line that will work better for you!
Most of the time it's not the product - it's the person.
Having a 28 year history and the finest developers in Switzerland, the products are intended to work. and if they don't - they don't sell them! So if you ever had a problem - let your consultant hear about it so it can be corrected and you will be able to see the long term benefits. Everyone has their favorites and because of that I don't think it's right to speak negative of another company for not having tried it in the time recommended.

I'm in my sixties and my wife and I use a really low cost cream called Genes Vitamin E Creme. It makes my dry skin real soft and my wife says it is the best makeup remover she's ever seen.

Dermalogica is the most "professionally recommended" skin care line in the world today. Arbonne doesn't have enough active ingredients to be effective. Their bottom line is about pyramid sales and its not being sold by licensed skin care professionals. This is also true for Proactive. Proactive just wants to bill your credit card every month. It's all about sales and making money. Dermalogica might cost a little more; but it's concentrated and last longer and therefore cheaper in the long run. You get what you pay for. Dermalogica products are developed by chemists and doctors that know the histology of the skin. The company itself is pro-education. Look at ingredients before you buy. Your company targets the 40 and older group. What about the teenagers and young adults? PREVENTION is imperative in anti-aging! Why wait until it's already apparent?

I LOVE ARBONNE, ESPECIALLY NOW THAT IT IS SUMMER, THEY HAVE WONDERFUL SUN PROTECTION PRODUCTS, ALL YOU OUT THERE THAT GOLF, THEY RECOMMEND THE BABY SUNSCREEN FOR YOUR FACE, IT IS THE PUREST AND DOES NOT BURN YOUR EYES WHEN YOU SWEAT. I use Emerita's Microdermabrasion Face Scrub. It's the only product I've found that cleans my large (ick) pores without drying out the rest of my face.
