The power of antioxidants

Antioxidants help boost your immune system, in addition to protecting against age-related diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and dementia. With so many foods are now being fortified with antioxidants, there's a good chance that you're getting enough of these free radical fighters from those sources alone. If not, then the caffeine in your coffee also does the trick (caffeine is the most abundant single source of antioxidants for Americans). But for extra protection, you may want to take a close look at your diet to see if it contains enough vitamin E, vitamin C, caratanoids and selenium.
What's so special about these four antioxidants in particular? They're very powerful, that's what. So powerful, in fact, that they are among the active ingredients found in the vitamin pill Immunance, which has shown promise in helping patients with HIV (source: the journal AIDS).
