Craving a juicy burger on the grill this summer? Grilling has come (no pun intended) under fire lately, due to a cancer-causing compound that's created when meat is grilled.
Known as heterocyclic amines (HCAs), these free radicals can cause damage in the body. But researchers recently discovered that when rosemary is added to a grilled burger, antioxidants in the herb prevent HCAs from forming, eliminating anywhere from 30 to 100% of the free radicals. That's good news for you carnivores out there who look forward to grilling season!
