5 ways to keep your whole body sharp

Want to keep your brain sharp? Then give your brain cells a workout by switching up your everyday routines. Brush your teeth with the opposite hand. Find your keys in your purse by touch alone -- don't peek. Or try a challenging crossword puzzle or mind game. Here are six more strategies, compliments of Woman's Day magazine, for keeping your whole body sharp.
- Strength train your muscles and then drink fat-free milk. Studies show that exercisers who drank two glasses a day lost more fat and built more muscle than those who didn't drink up.
- Skip the sweets, and you'll ward off stiff joints. High blood sugar makes the collagen in your connective tissue less pliable.
- Get some vitamin C and E. Try a spinach salad with mandarin oranges and almonds or take a multivitamin with 500 mg vitamin C and 400 IU vitamin E.
- Floss every day. It will help prevent heart disease.
- Get your vitamin K -- you need about 90 micrograms a day -- from leafy greens like romaine lettuce and spinach. It will move calcium from your blood to your bones.
- Wear sunscreen every day -- don't forget your neck and the back of your hands.
