Top 5 veggies eaten by Americans
My top five veggies are broccoli, peas, corn, squash, and spinach salad leaves. These aren't the five eaten by the majority of Americans, though. The overall top five in this country, according to Canyon Ranch's Connection magazine, are:- Iceberg lettuce
- French fries
- Potatoes
- Potato chips
- Canned tomato
This is alarming, says the Ranch experts, because these foods have far fewer vitamins than other vegetables. Don't be part of the statistic, they say. Instead, make an effort to eat one new veggie per week so you'll get a wider variety of nutrients.

Agreed! We have to stop thinking of vegetables in one bucket. The starchy ones are more of "carb" than a healthy vegetable.

The only one of those we eat regularly is canned tomatoes, and we do eat tons of those. The other veggies in our top five would probably be beans, broccoli, carrots and peppers. I LOVE french fries, but only eat them about once a month.

I love vegetables and fruit but have to remind myself to eat more of them. When I eat lots of vegetables and fruits (especially apples) I find that it balances my regularity.

I love french fries and fried food. But I don't eat either very often. I have such a lazy metabolism that if I ate that kind of food on a regular basis, i would need to widen the doors in my house. I can gain weight very quickly but
it takes for ever to lose it.
