ATIO Summer Quick Fix Challenge #2: What's your quick fix?
Let's face it: Losing weight (healthfully) is a long process. It's normal to expect to lose around 2 lbs a week, and if you have, say, 20 lbs to work off, you're looking at 10 weeks, if you stick to it diligently. But when we have an event coming up, be it a wedding, a high school reunion or just a day at the beach with your family, slow weight loss doesn't help; We need a quick fix. One of my favourite tips for slimming down quickly is this one from Jillian Michaels on AOL Body: Drop some water weight with a natural diuretic. It might not seem like much, but trust me -- that little black dress will fit better. Another tip? Sit up straight -- it will instantly take 10 lbs off your frame.

I have a lot of tricks....
1. SWEAT...a lot in my saturday morning work out.
2. Do isometric and core work for my whole body to give it a bit of tighter look.
3. Right before I head out to hang out with friends, I whip out 100 reps on bicep and tricep work on the rubber bands to really make my muscles POP and wow my friends.
4. This is bad, but skip dinner the day before a big event.
5. Wear BLACK, form fitting clothes (even men!)

I lost 5 inches off my tummy and it was all water-weight. I did this by making refrigerator iced tea at night in a pitcher with 4 tea bags and 2 qts. of water. I let it soak overnight in the refrig., in the morning its done, nothing else is required. I drink it in the morning and in the afternoon until its gone. The tea is a mild diuretic besides the caffeine boost it gives me in the morning. After 1 or 2 weeks of doing this, I had lost alot of water weight. I hope this works as good for you as it did for me.

On sandwiches and in dips change out mayo with reduced fat sour cream, way fewer calories but still gives you moisture. I started with my kids using half mayo half reduced fat sour cream... worked up to just the rf sour cream they never noticed and I like it too.

A few ways I lost 40 pounds in 5 months were...
1: Ran a mile everyday sometimes more if I felt good enough. This way you work out your heart so then you can have more endurance for longer workouts.
2: 500+ situps a day. You work the abs and when you work the abs you lose stomach fat.
3: 100+ pushups per day. They work out every muscle in the upper body except for your back at the same time.
4: Dont consume too much sugar, sodium, and fats. These are obvious but it really helps when you keep them to a minimum. And by the way those no carb diets dont really work too well... carbs are your body's long term energy source and you need that everyday!
I know this isnt exactly a losing weight bulletin but I felt like sharing my ideas on it! I hope these help anyone reading!!

This allows the metabolic processes to start sooner and be more effective while at rest, meaning that you can feel slimmer and ready for breakfast in the morning, instead of feeling still full/ bloated from last night and skipping breakfast.
People like Valerie Bertinelli recommend not eating after 7:30, and if you can, you should. This, however, means that eating out or planning a meal after a long day of work may not be doable.
Don't stress about it, just try it for a week and you'll feel the difference (and see it, too).

In addition to the already published diet / lifestyle tips, whatever your level of exercise routine, e.g., running, aerobics, rebounding, pilates, weights/springs/cables, etc., ten minutes before your workout drink a cup of coffee (sugar free) with one standard (325 mg) aspirin. I suggest chewing the aspirin and swishing it down quickly and thoroughly rinsing your mouth with the coffee as you drink it. It's a simple, inexpensive, and effective fat burner!

The best way to lose water weight is to purchase five pounds of fresh corn (in the husks) and take out the cornsilk. Make tea out of that and sweeten it with some Splenda..... Drink it..... it's THE best diuretic you can use. Drink it several times per day and fluids will not accumulate.

Believe it or not, water weight gain occurs because most people do not drink enough water. Starved for plain water, the body tends to hoard it. When it finally does get water, it tends to retain it rather than pass it. It took a year for me, but merely by increasing the amount of water I drank each day, I lost 40 pounds. Dropping from 220 to 180. Made no other changes in life style. I eat as usual, and have not increased exercise. Have convinced others to try this with similar success. One half ounce water per pound of body weight per day. Seems normal to gain a few pounds the first couple of weeks, then it just starts to melt off. The only effort involved is drinking the water.

When I quit smoking 4 years ago, I gained an unacceptable 25 pounds.
This year I decided it was time to do something about it!
I started my 'new eating/exercise regimen' January 2. By June 1, I had lost 26 pounds, and went from a size 14{that was getting tight} to an 8-10.
My advice:THERE IS NO QUICK-FIX FOR YOUR WEIGHT PROBLEM!
You are NOT going to lose 5-10 pounds, nor look like you did, in a very short period of time!! You did not gain the weight quickly...you won't lose it quickly either!
I ate 3 meals a day, 2 snaks, and WALKED
every day, for 20-40 minutes. Now that summer's here, I'm outside 3-4 hours a week: I mow, trim,weed...losing inches now with exercise I love.
And that's the key: you really have to like what you're eating...love how you're moving.
My new eating regime{not a 'diet' which denotes short-term}
BREAKFAST 1 South Beach Peanut Butter Bar....1 cup low-fat milk
OR 1/2 Cup any cereal,1cup lowfat milk
SNAK 1 banana...or 1 apple,1 tablespoon peanut butter with it
LUNCH 2 Lean Pockets
or 1 skinless chicken thigh,small salad,
brown rice, or steamed veg.
SNAK 1 apple or banana or 1 cup low fat yogurt
Dinner
1 piece of chicken or fish...no bigger than the palm of your hand,NEVER FRIED!
salad/low cal dressing/brown rice or steamed veg.
I eliminated
white bread...just ate dark,only 1 slice per day
pasta...substituted spaghetti squash
potatoes....had 1 baked,only twice per week
white rice...substituted brown rice
It worked...still works to KEEP it off,only now I had to ADD 400-500 GOOD calories daily to actually stop losing.
I'm 'in the zone,' and loving it~

get 12 to 15 people to join a biggest loser club for 15 weeks who ever looses the most gets the money ,but the only can do it without diet products
