Add these to your salad to make it a (healthy) meal
Categories: Nutrition & Supplements
If I don't have fresh lettuce in my fridge, I'm really disappointed at lunch time. Salads make for a quick meal that can fill me up quickly and, depending on what I add to them, keep me full for a long time. They also help me get hit my quota of veggies every day. A salad is certainly healthy on its own, but to make it a true meal, it needs a little help. Woman (this one, at least) can not live on greens alone. My favorite additions are avocado and hard-boiled egg, but CNN has a list of several other nutritious additions for your big bowl of lettuce. They include:
- a variety of greens
- fruits
- nuts and seeds
- tomatoes
- onions
- healthy oils
- seafood and proteins
