The View star bares her bikini bod

Lean protein. Vegetables. Nuts. A wise trio to incorporate into your diet if you're looking to shed a few pounds and complement a solid fitness routine. It's the exact combo used by The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck as she clawed back after having baby number two.

It's been six months since Hasselbeck had her second child. And now her bikini-clad body is up for grabs on newsstands everywhere as she graces the cover of the June 2008 Fitness magazine -- where she appears to be in tip-top shape yet says she's not so concerned about the numbers on her scale.

"Body image has nothing to do with scale numbers, it's how you feel inside," says Hasselbeck, who turns 31 this month. This is the first time I've felt free from that, because I am working out in a way where I feel so strong that there's no room for those doubts."

Hasselbeck worked out for six weeks to prep for her cover gig. She ran, strength trained, and did ab work twice a week. Her goal was never to lose weight. She just wanted to eat healthier and have more energy.

It is obvious from your comments that you are a less than attractive, overweight, liberal wacko who thinks beauty is only skin deep! How's that feel?

PLEASE- Liz is toning up for Dancing With the Stars- and John Mc Cain. How can anyone this pretty ( and she is that) act so stupid when it comes to politics. By the way- your average 31 yr old Mom doesn't have the Nannies, the trainers, the big bucks, nor the time for 6 weeks to ' get into shape'. They do it the old fashioned way by, cooking, cleaning, ironing , grocery shopping, running the kids to all their after school activities. Of course if the right Democrat was in the Oval Office( and I'm not talking Obama) maybe these Moms could have some extra money to have a manicure, don't you think? My advise to Liz and all her Repub buddies- be thankful for what you have right now-it won't last forever.

She looks great. The credit goes to her, but I would like to have her trainer for 6 weeks.
