Fatten up your diet to lose weight
Trying to drop some fat from your body? If so, you may want to try adding more fat into your diet. If you're scratching your head right now, that's to be expected. Fat makes you fat, doesn't it? Not always, especially when we're talking about medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) -- a type of saturated fat found in many natural oils (such as coconut and palm oils).In a study published in a 2007 issue of the peer-reviewed journal Metabolism, researchers followed 40 patients with type 2 diabetes to determine if MCTs had similar effects on weight and overall health as long-chain triglycerides (LCTs) -- which can commonly be found in such foods as corn oil. After receiving 18mg daily for 90 days, the MCT group exhibited a statistically significant reduction in waist size and body weight, in addition to shaving points off their "bad" cholesterol and lessening resistance to insulin. The LCT group, by contrast, did not show any signs of change.

Yes! Thank you, Chris, it is becoming more and more apparent that a calorie is not a calorie. Meaning, your body uses different "calories" in different ways and healthy fats are very important for a lot of very vital functions in our body. I am particularly irritated on a regular basis by coconut oil in particular being put in the "bad" category because it is "saturated". People in pacific nations that use this "fat" as a diet staple have virtually zero heart disease problems (forgive me for not providing a reference right now). Anyway, thanks again :)
