I once ran an 8K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving in Chicago. I was so tired when I woke up that morning, I threw on running clothes without thinking about it. Halfway through the race, I was feeling more and more uncomfortable. My windproof pants kept giving me an awful wedgie! Finally, at the finish line, I was met by a friend who asked me why I was wearing my pants backwards! The back pockets were in the front and the button and fly for the pants were in the back. Because they also had an elastic waist, I just pulled them on that morning without realizing it! We had a great big laugh during Thanksgiving dinner that year...

I love my treadmill, partly because I don't have to get dressed to run. Although I run outdoors (and clothed) most of the time, at 5 am on really cold mornings I bust out my miles on the treadmill in my underwear.

Nothing beats my 80's PE class get-ups. Turquoise Umbros, fascia jogging suits, and leggings under everything. I hope no pictures have survived!

I have had the habit of buying a ton of expensive workout gear and diet programs thinking each time that this time I'd stick with it, but there was always a reason to put it off for another day. Since I wanted to prove to myself that I could stick with a workout and diet plan before paying gym fees or buying workout clothes I have been working out in paint stained tee shirts and my husbands boxers for about six months now. Five more pounds and I'm finally springing for some real clothes!

I went through a phase where I thought I was seriously bada**.
now this is entirely humiliating should anyone know the brand to which Im referring but Im HOPING no one will.
I donned a pair of striped HOTSKINS shorts and a matching sports bra (intended for larger tatas than mine) and seriously thought I was....well...the muscular phoenom I guess.
(please note this was years ago)

I really like wearing underamour (sp?) while working out but hate how my butt looks in them so I usually wear shorts or sweatpants over them. One day I forgot to do the laundry but I feel so guilty when I don't go to the gym, so I threw on this lime green cotton mini skirt over my black underamour capris with pink running shoes and a white and navy t-shirt. It was horrible, but I was still comfortable and I got my workout in for the day.

Pretty much everything I wore while I was pregnant was embarrassing. About 15-20 years ago I went through the leg warming stage. Oh! And 4-5 years ago I went through a bandanna stage. Maybe some people could pull it off, but I couldn't, and nobody told me.

Basically the only workout clothes that I ever wear is a t-shirt and sweat pants. Sexy, I know. That is why I desperately need to win some real workout clothes.

I was going to a kickboxing class and wanted to dress the part. I ended up wearing stretchy black pants that were probably a couple sizes too small for me, a sports bra and a black bandeau across my chest, and I even had on strips of fabric on my arms and one across my head. Looking back, I can only laugh and shake my head at myself.

I work out in my underwear and in various stages of undress at home all the time, that's about it.

I used to wear my red Umbros with gray or black bike shorts underneath, with a hideous cartoon character shirt ( I had several) Nike hi-tops and slouch socks - sometimes 2 pair. It would be great to not look like an idiot while exercising!

Nothing too crazy, I guess, but one time I wore an ENORMOUS gray t-shirt, and the armholes were so big that people could definitely get peeks into my boobage area. Yeah, I need new clothes!

I usually use my treadmill at home so my workout attire tends to be things that I would not want to be seen in public in - i.e. free t-shirts I got from various functions, boxer shorts, shirts with stains, etc. When I work out in public I usually wear the "nicest" of the articles in this collection but it is usually still quite awful!

I wear those ribbed white A-line tanks and sweatpants that are too baggy and too short. Can someone please make sweatpants in small or extrasmall that are long enough for girls over 5'4"??
All the other ladies in my fitness classes are put-together with their yoga pants and built-in-bra tops while I look like a homeless person.

I think the most hideous thing I've worked out in was these awful red sweats that were cut off mid thigh very crookedly and paint stained. That and a huge faded Varnet t-shirt...lol. Awww, the good ol days! :D

Most of my workout clothes are worn out for I wear them till there is hardly anything left. For example, one time I went to the gym and while lifting weights I kept getting stared at by one of the other gym rats. It was a little unsettling at first but later realized that I had a hole in the crotch of my leotard and I was giving the others that noticed quite the show.

Once, when I forgot to wash my workout clothes, I resorted to wearing my husbands sweat pants (with a belt so that they wouldn't fall off) and an old maternity shirt.

I split a pair of workout pants in the crotch. That was about the worst day of working out ever.

This happens every now and then- all my work out stuff is stuffed in the bottom of the hamper...a few minutes into my run the stank dissipates a little bit at least...gross, I know.
