Fit Gadgets: Let's play ball
Have you ever been playing a basketball game and it was so intense and fast-paced that you couldn't take the time to look up at the scoreboard? Well, I haven't (at least not in a long time), but for those of you who have experienced this, you're in luck, or, at least, you will be. An Australian company is working on jerseys that have "electro-luminescent displays" which will show information for the players, like the score and time left.
The technology is called TeamAware. What I'm wonder is how that benefits your team -- would a league need to agree that all teams wear the jerseys to give both teams an equal advantage? We might not have to worry about it in the States -- there's no guarantee we'll be seeing them anywhere but Down Under any time soon.
If scoreboard jerseys aren't your thing, I still have something for you -- this basketball backpack will carry your ball for you everywhere you go. As cool as it looks, it doesn't look like it's actually for sale anywhere, though, so if you truly need a backpack that allows hands free basketball transportation, you might want to check out these bags.
Just so you know, I take zero responsibility for a downgrade of ball handling skills if you start carrying your ball around instead of dribbling. Seriously, don't cry to me.
