My mom always supports me in my endeavors. She wants what makes me happy, no matter what. When I was in high school, I'm pretty sure she swallowed some pretty valid concerns about a friend or two. Just after high school when I went to Europe all by myself, her heart sank. That funky haircut I got just prior to my overseas departure -- she clearly didn't like it. But it made me happy. So she was happy.
Should I decide to take the plunge and get a tummy tuck, I know I'll have my mom's full support. That doesn't mean she wants me to have the surgery, though. In fact, she'd love it if I'd back out of the whole ordeal. Surgery worries her. It worried her when she had a foot procedure a few months ago and it worries her now. I guess it's all the what-if scenarios that cause her to hesitate, namely "What if something goes wrong?"
My mom's concern weighs heavily on my mind. So does the discomfort I feel with this loose skin hanging around. What will I do? I have one week to decide.
NOTE: Abdominoplasty is recommended for those whose skin and muscle cannot recover on their own as a result of significant weight loss, pregnancy, aging, heredity, or prior surgery. It is not a substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program. For more information about this surgery, click here.

My mom is worried about the surgery but I know that I've got to do what is best for me. I actually just got off the phone with my doctor's office that is doing my surgery. My surgery is in two weeks. I spoke with a lady in the office that had this surgery about 2 months ago, she is so please with the results and told me that after the surgery there will be a big difference in my apperance and the way I feel about myself. I know this is a big step but I think if you have a great doctor everything will be just fine. I was told to take it easy for two weeks after surgery. Hey this will be a break from all of our daily duties as a mother and wife. I'm really excited after talking to this lady today. I hope you will do what you think is best for you. Don't us mothers deserve a little something for ourselves!!
