Fruit and veggie website for kids

The spaghetti squash, spinach and spinach souffle were flops with the kids at dinner last week. Two strands of spaghetti squash on the tongue actually triggered my daughter's gag reflex, just like peas for my brother when we were little. He could only eat them by swishing 'em down whole with swigs of milk.
Last week may have been a dismal veggie failure for my kids, but after clicking through this new fruit and vegetable Web site for kids created by the Produce for Better Health Foundation, I'm feeling inspired. Their new Food Champs site puts an educational, fun spin on the good stuff for kids aged two through eight years old.
Kids can pick one of five Fruit & Veggie Color Champions to accompany them around the site. There are a bunch of fun destinations, such as Fun & Games, a Gallery of uploaded Nutritional Artwork and a kid-led Eater Meter and Shopping Planner. Copies of the Eater Meter are going up on our fridge this weekend -- we'll track our fruit and veggie intakes together. And with my kids' input on the Shopping Planner, perhaps this week's veggies will be a self-determined hit!
