Website lists top 25 worst fad diets
Last night, my fiance and I sat down and watched an episode of The Biggest Loser. I tell you, what a great show that is. The amount of weight the contestants have lost so far has been nothing short of astonishing. The program truly is a testament to how effective exercise and proper diet can be in helping to shape a healthier body.
What's equally refreshing about the show is that it does not pull any punches. It makes it quite clear; if you want to get into better shape, you have to work HARD. At no point did I see any of the trainers pushing any quick-fix diet solutions or pills on the contestants. Do you know why? Because 99.9 percent of those quick-fix diets are completely ineffective, that's why.
A great article was brought to my attention by a reader, highlighting The 25 Most Ridiculous (and Ineffective) Popular Diets. Click HERE to read the full article, which was published this past Tuesday on RNCentral.com. Or, just take a quick look below at how they ranked each diet.

I read the article. It was interesting, but not great. I do agree with a lot of the theories behind why the diets were listed. But, I have disagree about the South Beach Diet. It was obvious that they hadn't even researched what the eating plan is and the article refers to one source for its information on the SBD ~ Dr. Jay Fuhrman who is trying to hype up his own eating plan at the expense of everything else. I've followed the South Beach guidelines for awhile now and have lost 70 pounds. I'm healthier than I've been in a long time and really find offense that an article would be so negative about an eating plan that hasn't even been researched in its entirety.

Piling onto Dev's great comment...
Atkins and South Beach (especially South Beach) get dinged by people who have little to no idea what these diets are about. Neither advocate zero carbs, at least not for any length of time. Sadly, that's what everybody assumes and then concludes these diets are dumb.
• Dumb is writing an article without doing any research.
• Dumb is writing an article that references the article above, without doing any research.
• Dumb is thinking that carbs have no effect over your fat-loss goals.
Sorry, thatsfit.com, I normally love you guys. But you really missed here.
