Headaches from sex

It was always my understanding that the whole "Not tonight, Honey. I have a headache" line was used as an excuse for someone to not have sex. However, a National Headache Foundation survey of more than 180 people revealed that 46 percent of respondents felt headaches because of sex.
Due to the fact that the people involved in the study all suffered from regular headaches (in fact, 96 percent of the them stated that just about anything seems to give them a headache), I suppose it shouldn't come as such a surprise that sex also had this affect. But, I'm not going to lie ... I'm still surprised.
When asked if sex has ever triggered a headache, 54 percent of respondents said no and 46 percent said yes, with most sex-related headaches occurring after sex. Of the 46 percent of respondents who experience sex-related headaches, about 40 percent of them admitted to cutting back on their sexual activity in efforts to avoid having to deal with the pain.
On the brighter side, as many of 42 percent of respondents who suffer from sex-related headaches reported having had no more than six of those headaches in total. And, of the people who don't suffer from sex-related headaches, 20 percent of them claimed that having sex instead eases their headache.
