Fit Beauty - Beauty gifts for him

In last week's post I talked about ways to pamper yourself or someone you love on Valentine's Day. In one of the paragraphs I discussed gifts for men, including a short bit on grooming gifts. This week I thought I would elaborate on it because, to me, Valentine's Day often seems to be more about gifts for women. I know this may come too late for today -- or not, depending on how organized you are -- but here are a few of my favorite companies that do great grooming products for men.

Aveda is easily my favorite place to buy any kind of beauty product. I don't get to shop there often as I find it a bit pricey, but it is still great for a treat. They have a good range of items for men including hair care, skin care, body and shaving products. If your guy is mane-obsessed, you can try the pomade, grooming clay or cream, or if he's looking for face care, Aveda offers the All-Sensitive Cleanser, All-Sensitive Toner and All-Sensitive Moisturizer.

To ensure a smooth shave, the company offers shave cream, after-shave balm and rosemary mint shaving gel, while body products include bath bars and body lotions. Aveda products are carried in a range of salons and the company has stand-alone stores in most cities. Products can also be ordered online.

The Body Shop is one of the first places I remember seeing a decent range of men's grooming products. They've got a section on their website that shows off a number of items that are great for him, whether they're specifically for men or just great for both sexes (an added bonus, as you can borrow the unisex stuff!). One of these great-for-men-and-women gifts is the Hemp Hand Protector. This is one of the best hand creams I've ever used -- it really helps keep hands super soft.

One of my favorite perfume's is Body Shop's White Musk, so I imagine the White Musk for Men Eau de Toilette as well as the aftershave balm smell fantastic. The company also carries various shave and moisturizer products and even For Men Eye Rescue Serum. Like Aveda, Body Shop stand-alone stores are everywhere and all of these products can be ordered from the website.

Finally, H2O+ -- a company that specializes in "sea-derived skincare" carries a line of great men's products. I love H2O because everything they sell smells great and makes me feel refreshed. As with the Body Shop, a lot of their gifts are unisex (like the shower radios and Sensory Spa Massager), but they also have a few items that are specifically for men.

You can grab your guy a Chocolate Kashwere Robe so that he can relax in cozy comfort or give him the Black Ice Cologne, which you'll likely enjoy just as much as he does. If the man in your life has a beloved pooch, you can also impress him with something for man's best friend as the company carries a Spa Dog Gift Set as well as a Doggie Dryer Mitt for after-baths. H20+ doesn't have a tonne of stores across North America but again, all of their stuff can be ordered online.

These are just a few of my favorite beauty companies that carry men's lines but I would love to hear of any others out there, so if you've got one you like please share!
