Anyone watching the news is probably aware that if they had their way, everyone would be afraid of everything causing cancer. It seems like every month there is a new link or study relating it to our daily routine. But an Australian specialist has tried to put a stop to many of those myths by dispelling beliefs of cancer causes.

Among those non-risk factors in the report were coffee and deodorant, which were found very unlikely to cause cancer. Hair dye and breast implants were also kicked to the curb. Ever heard that living near a power line could cause cancer? That myth doesn't have any basis either according to the doctor.

He couldn't, however, dispel the possibility that mobile phones or certain food additives upped the risk due to the lack of hard evidence. Professor Stewart put it best this way: "We're working to allay many of the fears that everything can cause cancer because the risks are often insignificant."
