Man blue after taking colloidal silver

When I read about the "blue man" in People, I had to do a little more research and came across this video. Paul Karason began taking colloidal silver for health problems over a decade ago. Eventually, he even began rubbing it on his face to treat a skin condition. Over time, the treatments turned his skin a deep blue, a process that happened so gradually, he says (almost unbelievably) that he and fellow family members didn't notice. The condition is known as aygyria, when the silver salts deposit themselves in the skin, eyes, and internal organs.

Colloidal silver is thought to be an alternative for antibiotics and anti-fungals, though the FDA says that these claims are unsubstantiated. Mr. Karason is attempting to make a new life for himself after a move out of state and says that he does not intend to seek medical care for his condition, but instead intends to live with it the rest of his life.
