Hip Office: Take your work for a walk
Posted on Jan 28th 2008 9:15AM by Bethany SandersScreen time mean being sedentary. It's a fact of life to be dealt with for those who work (and play) in front of computers. If you're working, you're sitting, and sitting doesn't lend itself to physical fitness. The obvious solution is to take mini-breaks throughout the day, take a walk during your lunch hour, and hit the gym on the way home, but every now and then, someone comes along with a gadget that promises to free us from our sedentary work lives.
Take, for example, the Hip Office. Not hip as in hipster, but literally, an office for your hips. The module fits around your waist and promises to support your laptop so that you can stand, sit, kneel, walk, even do lunges while you process those reports.
I can't get past the idea that it would be more productive to just get up and take a walk, then return to your work refreshed, but still...it's inventive!
