Time for you to be the motivator!

Name: Nick Ferrara

Age: 32

Occupation: Police Detective

How often do you exercise? 5 times a week, Monday thru Friday. Weekends off...I need this to keep my sanity.

What type of exercise do you do? Strength training using free weights and cardio (usually 20-25 minutes).

What gets you to workout, even when you're feeling lazy? I keep motivated knowing that each and every workout is a step closer to reaching my goal. Additionally, missing one workout will easily turn into missing two or three. It's a slippery slope.

What's on your MP3 player? You'd be surprised by how "mixed" it is...Sinatra, U2, 3 Doors Down, Rob Zombie, Huey Lewis, T-Pain, Nelly, get the point?

Favorite healthy food? Publix Fat Free Yogurt

Favorite not-so-healthy food? Conestoga's SMB burger

Greatest fitness accomplishment? Losing nearly 90 lbs and keeping it off after 3+ years...and counting.

Best fitness advice? If you want to change the way you look, realize there is no magical pill, exercise contraption, or diet. You just need to eat sensibly, exercise on a regular basis, and have patience. It took time putting the weight "on", and it will take time taking it "off." Once the weight is off, don't expect to go back to your "old ways." It was your "old ways" that made you heavy. You need to realize fitness is a lifestyle change, both physically and mentally.
