Tappening: No more plastic water bottles
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss, Reviews & Products, Alternative & Green Health
Did you know that roughly only one out of four plastic bottles get recycled? The rest find their way into landfills and just sit there for generations to come. And when you think about it, it's kind of silly. We use oil and energy and create pollution for a plastic bottle that's filled with something we can get at our own tap. (Not to mention that bottled water is outrageously priced when you compare it to pouring your own glass.)
I know, I know. It was hard for me to give up my bottled water habit too. They're so convenient, after all. But when you think about it, really think about it, it just makes since to carry a reusable bottle instead. One option is to order a plastic reusable bottle from Tappening, a website and blog that hopes to carry the message "Think Global, Drink Local" to the masses.

Full disclosure I co-founded Tappening. I also could not care less if people buy our bottles. I'll promote all of our "competitors" like Nalgene or Sigg. I talk about them in every interview I do. Great companies. Great products.
But do come to our site and learn the facts (www.tapening.com). You can even check out how clean the water is where you live on any given day. Some municipalities have far cleaner tap water than others. Depends on where you live. Certainly everyone should have a filter. But buying 28 billion bottles of bottled water a year is a crime to our environment and not necessary. All we ask at Tappening is that people get educated on the facts. It's what our website was set up for.
I am including a link to an interesting video recently posted on You Tube:

But please do come visit our site and feel free to e-mail me if you want a bottle from anyone else who "competes" with us. I'll gladly give you information on where to buy theirs. Just stop with all the bottled water.

I use the Glass Voss bottle for work everyday and wash it every evening. It's great and stylish.

Surely reusing a plastic water bottle is more earth friendly than buying one of those specialist bottles, after all they are thinner and use less resources to make!

The thin plastic bottles leach containments into your water after a few uses. It's better to order one specifically for reuse.
And please, quit with this crap "Tap actually tastes better!" and say "Get a brita" or some other filter. Who cares about cleaning the water? I just wanna drink something that doesn't taste disgusting(and yes, I tasted it just now to remind myself, as if the smell isn't bad enough!).
