Long-term cell phone use may cause hearing loss
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment, Reviews & Products
The debate continues over whether or not cell phone use can lead to cancer, with evidence emerging in support of both sides of the argument. But, there is another risk of cell phone use that you may not have HEARD about.
Researchers in India discovered that people who use cell phones for sixty or more minutes per day over a yearlong period exhibited early signs of hearing loss.
Some speculate whether damage can be done to your inner ear by the electromagnetic radiation emitted by cell phones, while others believe the effects on hearing are related to the high volume setting at which most cell phones are kept. And others still, such as Dr. Chester Griffiths, feel that the validity of these findings are too preliminary to warrant alarm.
It seems to me that a new cell phone debate has emerged.

Well I suppose this can be a problem, but so far I see nothing any more about the loud music that the teens play and even older (in 20's) play..
I'd worry about that before I'd worry about a cell phone.
So far I haven't had a cell ph loud enough to worry about it!
But the guy sitting 4 cars behind me.. w/ his boombox thumping.. so loud it vibrates my windows..
Now that might be a problem!

A wise man once said, "If it's too loud, you're too old." I am in my older 20's and I love the quality of the music. But it just so happens that it gets better as I turn it up.

honestly I dont think it would have to do with volume unless you set it high, if you need it that high you already have hearing probs, or else land line phones would have been causing this problem already. considering land line phones has a higher volume setting. IF there is even a problem. ill wait till they can prove it. either way I dont use a cell but a few moments a day to say hey to hubby when he is at work.

I have also heard that cell phone headsets can cause terminal rudeness and exacerbate stupidity.

Only an idiot would be dumb enough to hold a cell phone near them all day long.

Talking on any phone too much causes phone elbow tendonitis for me. I'd rather chat on the computer if I'm just trying to waste time.

I have stopped using my cell phone and my cordless phones. I was getting headaches everytime I used one and I knew it was the source of my headaches because they went away after I stopped. I believe they are horrible for you! Look up some articles about cell phones on Mercola.com also if your interested in losing weight or just getting healthy check out www.earthsown.wholefoodfarmacy.com

Just like loud music, anything that you put in your ear or that close to your ear gives you the chance to have hearing loss. So this study is probably true but its still not gunna stop people from using their cell phones.
