You've got mail

Here's something that I know I find extremely frustrating ...

You're not feeling all that great, so you give your doctor a call. Now, unless you've had a long-standing relationship with this doctor and you and he/she know each other quite well (maybe you play golf together on weekends or whatever), you probably won't even get them on the phone. Instead, you'll get as far as their receptionist, who will take your name and number, telling you that the doctor will return your call as soon as they can.

Depending upon your doctor's schedule, that can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to, well, never. But, according to a recent University of Pittsburgh study, the internet has created a way around the receptionist.

Research from the study shows that doctors answered e-mail queries faster than phone questions.
