Great skin in 2008
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss, Alternative & Green Health
Want beautiful skin in 2008? (Who doesn't?) Rather than spend your money on expensive potions, consider these simple tips from the New York Times instead. An ounce of prevention will keep your skin healthy and glowing, and stop problems before they start. My favorites include:
- Throw out old beauty products. I know, I know, they're expensive to replace, but what you can't see (bacteria) can hurt you.
- Keep your hands off! It's tempting to pop those pimples, but you may just make matters worse.
- Use fewer products. Skin experts recommend -- at most -- a mild cleanser, moisturizer with sunscreen, a product with antioxidants, and an anti-wrinkle treatment that contains retinoids or vitamin A.
- Wash your face. So simple, so effective, washing your face gives it a rest from environmental exposure.

I agree with all suggestions, and now considering? to apply an anti-wrinkle cream to boot! (I'm over 50). To answer the very last ? here's what I do: My regime changes with the seasons. During the summer months when the weather can be sweltering, I sweat more, of course, from more activity, so I wash my face more and use a natural clay mask to help suck out the impurities. During the winter months I home-steam my face with a product called SwissKriss herbs (a mixture of natural herbs that purify the water), again this method helps to suck out rancid oils from my skin and leaves it radiant. There certainly are other things too but for the sake of time and simplicity, drinking water, daily exfoliating with a really good wash cloth, and once a week using a natural-bristle scrub brush. And this year I'll be cutting back on red meats (even chicken) to help unclog and help boost the body's way of releasing toxins. Hope you enjoyed reading my comment. I enjoyed sharing. - Tia

Great tips! I got rid of a lot of products when I started a travel job 18 months ago (you can only fit so much in that little 1-quart baggie).
I carry a high-quality lotion, moisturizing foundation, and sample-sized eye cream. I use self-foaming cleansing pads to wash with -- since they're dry I don't have to put them in the baggie.
My favorite skin habit? When I remember to use a moisturizing mask on the weekend. My skin feels smooth and rehydrated from the abuse of dry plane air.

Drink PLENTY of water and eat PLENTY of watery fruits. I avoid sugar as best I can. Sweating regulary makes my skin BETTER, of course after I was it. Moisturize!!! EVEN THE MEN NEED TO!

One of the things I have found in life that is so important is your skin. At 45 my skin had become very dry and my scalp flaked and itched all the time.
I e havtried craft soaps from all over the USA and Canada and all are better than store bought soap but I have not found any that compares to BobSkinSoap. It has so many ingredients (around 25…compared to 3-4 in most craft soaps) in BobSkinSoap that are good for your skin and hair. Most craft soaps are made with animal fat because it is a cheaper way to make soap. BobSkinSoap uses Extra Virgin Olive Oil as the primary ingredient. The BobSkinSoap web page explains so much about soap products.
I now use BobSkinSoap FOR EVERYTHING. I use it on my hair, for shaving my legs and bathing. I actually threw all my other hair and skin products away about 5 years ago when I started using BobSkinSoap. I actually save money because all I need is BobSkinSoap. It's not a pretty soap as you can see if you look at the pictures on the web page, but if you just use BobSkinSoap for 1 week without using anything else on your skin (and hair) you will feel the difference. I could feel it the first time I use it. I do not even use deodorants anymore as the essential oils in BobSkinSoap make your whole body smell really good.
